If you have old floorboards that are showing their age, how about having them painted in a colour? Finished with a hard wearing floor varnish.
Before and Afters
Old bathroom refurbishment in Herne Bay. Ceilings and walls were painted in a fresh bathroom white. The pine boards looked dated so were sanded and treated with a mahogany Sadolin wood stain. All skirtings, doors and window frames were painted in white. The old floor was ripped up, ply board replaced then vinyl matting laid and cut around the new units.

This is a beautiful 5 bed property in Tankerton that we finished to a high standard using trade quality paints. All oak doors and banisters finished with several coats of a matt water-based varnish.
